Elna Hatcher Obituary

Elna Maidelle Hatcher, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on October 15, 2008. She was born on August 20, 1925, to the late David Clarence and Laura Elizabeth Hatcher. She was preceded in death by one sister, Iona Faye Burgess. Survivors include brothers and sisterin-laws, Bert and Linda Hatcher, Donnie Royce and Jo Ann Hatcher, David C. Hatcher Jr. and Madeline Hatcher; nephews, Lane Hatcher, Gary Hatcher, Darrell Hatcher, Vincent Hatcher, Victor Hatcher, Chad Hatcher; nieces, Charliene and Lindel Belcher, Lori and Ben Greenfield; greatnieces and nephews, Lucian Belcher, Robin Belcher, Elizabeth Quesenberry, Phillip Belcher. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Maberry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Duncan officiating. Hymns by Lonzie Alderman. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home. Online condolences sent to www.maberryfuneralhome.com.

My memories of Maidelle are so very special. We made play houses together, along with her sister Faye, and just had lots of fun as youngsters. We walked to Thompson School together and tolerated her brother, Junior, who walked with us. I'm so glad to have known her!
