Thomas Wayne McMillen

Thomas Wayne McMillen, of Wilmington, N.C., died Wednesday, October 15, 2008. He was born March 27, 1940, in Flushing, N.Y., son of the late Wayne McMillen and Pearle Harshbarger McMillen. He grew up in Manhasset, N.Y. and graduated from Syracuse University. Mr. McMillen was an avid sports fan and especially loved lacrosse. He also enjoyed fishing, tennis and gardening. Mr. McMillen was a retired Burger King franchise owner. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Sally Jacoby McMillen; and children, Katherine and Jeff McMillen, both of Wilmington, N.C., and Kerstin McMillen Qualls, of Spring Hill, Fla. A visitation for family and friends will be held between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, N.C. Following the visitation, the family will welcome friends at their home at 1308 Woodfield Ct., Wilmington, N.C. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
