Joe Everett Obituary

Joe Lewis Everett, 71, of Roanoke, Va., answered the Lord's call to eternal life on Friday, October 17, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Laura Mae) Everett; and five siblings, Oscar, Mattie, Gladys, Brownie Mae and Unice Everett. Joe Lewis Everett was a local Real Estate entrepreneur and employed part-time by Parker's Seafood. Left to mourn his Home going are two devoted stepdaughters, Levon (Clarence III) Turpin and Francine Patrick, both of Roanoke, Va.; two stepsons, George (Vicki) Patrick, of Virginia Beach, and Virginia and Carl Patrick, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Michael Bearfielp, of New Jersey; six sisters, Edna L. Everett, Hattie Everett-Boyd, Mary (Clarence) Wiggins, Eddie Mae (Solomon) Williams, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; and six brothers, John C. Everett, Willie A. (Joyce) Everett, both of Philadelphia, Pa., Samuel L. (Jane) Everett, of Hagerstown, Md., Jimmy J.C. (Phyllis) Everett, of Gainesville, Fla., Richard (Marilyn) Everett, of Sharon Hill, Pa., and Leon (Dorothy) Everett Sr., of Darby, Pa. He also leaves 18 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Maple Street Baptist Church, 902 Fairfax Ave., N.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016 with the Reverend Charles R. Calloway officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Friends may call on Friday afternoon, October 24, 2008, for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate your contributions to the Maple Street Baptist Church Building Fund. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.

Working wth "Big Daddy" Joe at Parkers Seafood was quite a pleasure and joy. He is greatly missed by all of us who shared our workdays with him.
