Imogene Martin Barnes

Imogene Martin Barnes, 75, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Imogene was a member of Round Knob Missionary Baptist Church and known as the "Cake Lady of Carroll County." She is survived by her husband, Milburn Barnes, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Barnes, of Hillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Michael Mann, of Pinnacle, N.C.; granddaughter, Sarah Mann; brothers and sistersin-law, Ernest and Martha Martin, of Hillsville, Jerry and Kaye Martin, of Broomfield, Colo., and Wade and Nevada Martin, of Hillsville; and sister-in-law Maxine Martin, of Galax. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2008, at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb and the Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the CC Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. until service time.
