Ishmael A. Jones

Ishmael A. Jones, 84, of Callaway, Va., died on Monday, October 27, 2008. Mr. Jones was born on December 23, 1923, a son of the late Aldine and Pearl Jones. He was a World War II veteran and a retired millwright from Allied Chemical. He also loved golf, music, was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, organized the annual St. Peter's Episcopal School reunions and served as a board member of Phoebe Needles Center in Callaway, Va. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia E. Jones; and brother, Stafford O. Jones. He is survived by his wife, Thelma C. Jones, of Chester, Va.; children, Barry L. Jones and wife, Marie, of Prince George, Va., Joseph G. Jones and wife, Carolyn, of Colonial Heights, Va., Kevin A. Jones and wife, Donna, of Germantown, Tenn., Michael L. Gray, of Midlothian, Va., and Jeffery L. Gray and wife, Cheri, of Chester, Va.; grandchildren and spouses, Wade L. Jones and wife, Melissa, of Montpelier, Va., Scott J. Jones and wife, Paola, of Hopewell, Va., Jennifer L. Mayton and husband, Eric, of Chester, Va., Ashley G. Krupp and husband, Russell, of Chester, Va., Matthew L. Gray, of Midlothian, Va., and Victoria M. Jones, of Germantown, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Blake L. Jones, Morgan D. Jones, Carson R. Jones, Lindsey L. Jones, Kierstin B. Mayton, and Leah N. Jones; brothers and sisters, Ina B. Messenger, Juanita D. Howell, Estelle E. Jones, Rudolph F. Jones, M. Christine Jones, and Geraldine J. Smith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008, from St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Heck officiating. Interment will follow in the Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
