Mary M. Henry

Mary M. Henry, 91, of 5258 North Spring Drive, Roanoke, Va. 24019, and formerly of Pocahontas, Va., died on Thursday, October 23, 2008, in Greensboro, N.C. Born in Pocahontas, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rose Mathews. She was a life long member of the First Missionary Baptist Church Pocahontas, Va., where she served as Treasurer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers; and one sister. Survivors include her husband, William Henry, of the home; four sons, Arthur Henry, of Uniondale, N.Y., William Henry Jr., of Hempstead, N.Y., Robert Henry, of Wyandach, N.Y., and Michael Henry, of League City, Texas; three daughters, Hazel Dillard, of Roanoke, Va., Rose Mary Gammon, of Richmond, Va., and Diana Bowers, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the First Missionary Baptist Church, Pocahontas, Va., with the Rev. Curtis Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery, Rt. 20, Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the First Missionary Baptist. Church, Pocahontas, Va.
