Mary Belle Wolfe Hoback

Mary Belle Wolfe Hoback, 85, of Wytheville, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was born on November 7, 1922, in Pulaski, Va., daughter of the late James Isaac and Mattie Cornelia Heldreth Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie G. Hoback Sr.; a son, Carlos Moore Hoback; and two sisters, Elizabeth Virginia Wolfe and Elsie Eleanore Wolfe. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and James Rupe, of Asheville, N.C., and Mary and Michael Miller, of Christiansburg, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles G. "Harry" Jr. and Gloria Hoback, of Wytheville, Va., and Wendell Elwin and Mary Susan Hoback, of Wytheville, Va.; two sisters, Frances Ellen Batnich, of Concrete, Wash., and Clara Mae Lance, of Wytheville, Va.; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. G.T. Monday officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
