Harry King Obituary

Harry William King, 79, of Salem, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. He was the son of the late Thomas and Bertha King. Harry was a member of Midway Baptist Church and retired from the Pepsi Cola Company. He was a wonderful husband. He also enjoyed trout fishing and hunting. He often shared his trout fish with friends and family. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman and Versey King. He is survived by his wife, Helen King; stepson, Ronnie Baucom, of Troutville; stepdaughter, Julie Sisson and husband, James, of Shawsville; brother, Henry King and wife, Patsy, of Salem; sisters, Reva Fagg and husband, Harold, of Salem, and Charlotte King, of Elliston; stepgranddaughter, Melissa Shepherd and husband, Eric ,of Shawsville; stepgrandson, Greg Sisson, of Shawsville; and stepgrandchildren, Melanie Shepherd, Justin and Jeremy ,all of Shawsville. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son with the Reverend Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 30, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem.
