Alma Hoover Obituary

Alma Elizabeth Hamilton Alma Elizabeth Hamilton Hoover, 87, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alvy Teague Hamilton, brothers, Leonard, Lewis, and James Hamilton and her husband, Wayne Hoover. Mrs. Hoover served in the U. S. Army during World War II. She retired from the Daytona Beach, Florida Police Department. Surviving are her sister, Evelyn Hamilton McCormack and husband, John, of Roanoke; brother, Jerry H. Teague and wife, Mary, of Merritt Island, Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Kim, Dr. Yeaman, and the entire staff of Building 7 at the V A Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided during the past year. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 in Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, 366-0707.

Liz was my grandma, she was married to a wonderful man named Wayne Hoover, my grandpa. She was an incredible lady that taught me many things. We played cards until late in the night when I was young and she spoiled me well like all grandmas should. She will be missed.
