Charles Verble Obituary

Charles Howard Verble, 87, of Boones Mill, Va., and formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille O. Verble. Mr. Verble was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from Lee Smith Company. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post #95 for 35 years. He is survived by his daughters, Dottie Blissett, of Boones Mill, and Nancy Copeland, of Chester, Va.; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Robert D. Verble, of Sparta, Tenn. Memorial services for both Mr. and Mrs. Verble will be announced in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

To Dottie and Nancy, It is so hard to be the last leaf left on the tree.
Howard was such a good son and brother. We will miss him very much.

Dear Dottie & Nancy,
I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Howards passing. It's hard to realize that our loving parents are gone. It's nice to think that they are all together again, free from pain and looking down on us from above.
Please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. I wish as cousins we could be closer. All we have left is each other.

I knew both Mr. & Mrs. Verble when they attended Burnt Chimney Methodist Church. They were both such nice people and I thought a lot of them. God Bless your family during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr Verble's passing. I will always remember him from Dr. Woods office. He was a very special man and I will miss him.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
