Sarah Baskerville Obituary

Mrs. Sarah Jane Baskerville, 86, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Albert Young and Pearl Patterson Young. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Baskerville. Survivors include sons, Walter (Carolyn) Baskerville, of Roanoke, and Debrosky (Rosa) Baskerville, of Montvale; daughter, Deborah (Thomas) Grigsby, of Roanoke; sister, Mary Lee Haley, of Ohio; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held noon on Monday, November 3, 2008, at Sweet Union Baptist Church with the Rev. E.T. Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Friends may call at Serenity on Sunday, November 2, 2008, from 1 to 8 p.m. for viewing. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home, 540-345-9100.

I was Ms. Baskerville's bus driver for many years. She was very nice to me and I enjoyed knowing her. She was a good Christian woman with high standards and I admired her. I loved to hear her play her harmonica. She was talented and loved our Lord. She will be missed.
