James Shannon Obituary

James Herbert (Jimmie) Shannon, 48, of Narrows, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, at his home after battling with cancer. Born in Hampton, Va. on April 13, 1960, he was a son of the late Carl and Betty Clemons Shannon and grandson of the late France Bruce and Lelia Ester Burton Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Johnny Shannon. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters, Ethel Shannon and Ester Shannon; and his friends, Averial Lee Ferrell and Paul Blankenship, all of Narrows; his aunts, Frances and Phillip Parcell, of Rich Creek, Evelyn and Chuck Reedy, of North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 3, 2008, in Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St., in Pembroke, with burial following in the Clemons Cemetery at Elgood, W.Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
