Lillien Brown Obituary

Lillien Sneed Brown, 80, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. She was born in Archer, Fla., and is preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Henry and Delia Sneed; four siblings; her husband, L.O. Brown Jr.; and a grandson, Forrest Bowman. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Cindy Brown; and grandchildren, Chris and Erin Brown; daughter, Sallie Garst; and grandchildren, Ben and Simon Garst; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Pat and Rick Jones; and grandson, Dustin Bowman. Lil graduated from Flora McDonald College and in later years graduated from VA Tech with a Doctorate Degree. She was a long time active member of Second Presbyterian Church. The support and love from her friends, family, church and caretaker carried her through her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 214 Mountain Ave., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016 or the Gentle Sheppard Hospice, 6045 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019. A memorial service will be held noon on Monday, November 3, 2008, at Second Presbyterian Church.

Bless each of you at this time. Your mother was such a strong woman that helped and understood all of us through our childhood and showed us strenght as we faced many situations in the recent years.
