Martha Braford-Kidd-Burch Obituary

Martha K. Burch, 91, passed away early Sunday morning, November 2, 2008, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born October 19, 1917, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Grover C. Braford and Bessie Barger Braford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick T. Kidd in 1957, and Edward D. Burch in 1987; a brother, Rives Braford; a special aunt, Ruby Barger Jennings; and a special cousin, Abner Johnston. Surviving are her twins, Hilda K. Royer and husband, Bruce, of Buena Vista, and Harold F. Kidd and wife, Nancy, of Daleville; a stepdaughter, Lucille Carr, of Rockbridge County; a brother, Buford Braford, of Buena Vista; a special sister-in-law, Frances Madison; grandchildren, Garry F. Kidd and wife, Sheila, of Calhoun, Ga., Troy A. Royer, of Buena Vista, Kimberly K. Brads and husband Tony, of Daleville, Martha E. Royer and husband, Gil, of Lake Ozark, Mo., Mitzi J. Royer and Husband, Bill, of Buena Vista; Chuck Carr, of Rockbridge County; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Buena Vista Baptist Church with the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Buena Vista Baptist Church, 2174 Chestnut Ave., Buena Vista, Va. 24416. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Va.

My deepest sympathy to Harold, Hilda and their immediate family members. Aunt "Sis" was certainly a very special and loving individual. I have very fond memories of her that I will always cherish. She was always so good to me. May you be in peace knowing she is certainly resting in the arms of our Lord.
