R.N. Horn

1922 - 2008

R.N. Horn, a former Natural Bridge resident, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 1, 2008, at his Fruitland Park, Fla., home. Mr. Horn was born August 9, 1922, in McDowell County, W.Va., a son of the late William Preston Horn and Della Wagner Horn. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Hester Cantrell Horn. He served in the Navy through World War II and went on to become the founder and owner of Natural Bridge Lumber Company and Natural Bridge Construction Company. In addition, he was involved in many civic activities in Rockbridge County and beyond. Mr. Horn is survived by his wife, Maxine Horn, five daughters, a stepdaughter and stepson, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild, as well as a brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008, at High Bridge Presbyterian Church in Natural Bridge with Dr. Louis Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in High Bridge Presbyterian Cemetery.
