Richard Smith Obituary

Mr. Richard Franklin Smith II, 87, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008. Born June 12, 1921, in Freeman W.Va., he was one of eight children of the late Richard F. and Lottie E. Smith. After serving in the United States Army during World War II, Richard settled in California and worked in the aircraft industry for many years. He relocated to the east coast after retirement, and passed away at the Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edith S. Richardson, Esther S. Peters, Anna May Smith, Dorothy S. McNeil; and brother, James E. Smith. He is survived by his sisters, Charlotte S. Tabor and Martha S. Cunningham; sister-in-law, Eulalia Y. Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Bramwell, W.Va., and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
