Peggy Jones Obituary

Peggy Jean Jones, 72, of Wytheville, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at her home. She was born in Thomasville, N.C., the daughter of the late Arthur Dillon Jones and Lillie Wagner Jones Money. Peggy attended Western Carolina University where she received a Bachelor Arts Degree in English and Literature and was an outstanding honor student. She received her Master's Degree in English and Literature from Radford University. Her teaching career began in Northern Virginia, counties of Prince William, Fairfax and Stafford. She served as President of the Prince William County Education Association. Peggy was not only an educator, but also an accomplished sculptor and poet. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Doris Jones McBride and John , of Henderson, N.C.; niece, Kimberly McBride, of Birmingham, Ala.; long time teaching associate and friend, Rebecca Sue Huddle, and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Father Kent W. Tarpley. Peggy's ashes will be interred in the Earhart-Huddle family cemetery in the Huddle Community of Wythe County at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Saint John's Episcopal Church, 275 E. Main St. Wytheville, Va. 24382 or to Hospice of Southwest Virginia 600 West Ridge Road, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Peggy was a great lady. I used to visit her and her little dog Peppi.
I'm sure she is missed so much by Peppi, as they were so close, and loved each other so much. I will miss her too.
