Dear Carolyn and Family,

Today I learned about your loss. I am sorry I did not know in time to come to the service. I certainly will keep you in my prayers. Richard was a special person. I enjoyed seeing him both at Jefferson High School and at First Baptist. Although we are sad, he is loving it where he is now!

Dear Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Richard. I read it in the paper last night, but wasn't sure it was him untill today's paper. I'm sorrry that I haven't kept in touch with everyone at RMH, life is so hectic and short here on earth, that we need to slow down and enjoy each day that is given to us. After reading this guest book, I realize that Richard had been ill, I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you and your family and I will keep you in my thoughts. Please call me if you need anything and write me when you get a chance. Love and prayers, Your old friend from RMH Tracy Slater

Richard's precious family,

We are very saddened at the death of Richard. His love for God prevailed during his illness. He was an inspiration to all of us. When he would bring his granddaughter with him to church, you could see the love he had for her in his eyes. His eyes are now looking into the gentle and loving eyes of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
We will miss Richard very much. May wonderful memories fill the void you now have in your hearts.
Our love and prayers are with you as you travel this difficult road.

Praying for you.

Carolyn,
God's presence carried Richard through his ordeal to his heavenly destination. Now it's your turn to feel that awesome strength--God's loving arms around you slowly lifting you from the darkness, the numbness. Each day will get a little easier. Will be praying for you and your family and rejoicing that Richard is pain free and happy.
Love,

Carolyn and family:

I too am sorry to hear of your loss. I did not realize he had been ill until I was notified this morning of our loss. I enjoyed working with Richard for many years and was always interested to hear of his mission trips....he really enjoyed them!I left him a message 2 months ago--I had just visited an audit that had inquired about him. He was really well liked by everyone and a true friend. I also remember when I broke down in Roanoke going to East Tn at Thanksgiving. Richard immediately offered me his car to finish the trip. He was a great man!

Richard was a great man and we will all miss him. He fought the good fight in this illness and he kept the faith. Now we have to take comfort in the words "absent from the body, present with the Lord."
