Oliver Radford Hunt

Oliver Radford Hunt, 88, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday, November 15, 2008. He was born June 18, 1920, a son of the late James and Maude Hunt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jones Hunt; son, Radford Wayne Hunt; daughters, Patsy Coon and Janet Hodges; grandson, Timothy Hodges; sister, Ann Brooks; brothers, Adolfus, Clark, Roger, Floyd, Glenard, Manard, and Henry Hunt. Mr. Hunt was retired from MW Manufacturers with 53 years of service. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dennis Johnson, Nelda and Jeff Hopkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Ardie (Butch) and Darlene Hunt, Kenneth Hunt, David and Kathy Hunt; grandchildren, Greg Kendrick, Suzanne Branch, Jeff and Tracy Hunt, Chris Hunt and Angie Martin, Kim and Junior Minnix, Jessica Hodges and Ben Turner, Dina and Curtis Davis, George (Jody) and Hiedi Smith, Steve and Carrie Smith, Jonathan and April Hunt, James Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Charles Hunt, Sandra and Jason Wagner, Kristy Hunt, Kayla Dean; 16 greatgrandchildren; sister, Rachel Buckner; sister-in-law, Hattie LaPrade. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, with the Rev. Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the HuntRobertson Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday, with his family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
