Clinton Pultz Obituary

Clinton Lam Pultz, of Roanoke, Va., went home to join his wife , Gabrielle; and sons, Roger and Henry, in the presence of the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Born in Rockbridge, County on May 17, 1925, he was the father of four sons and two daughters and was a well known masonry contractor whose work was much sought after. After battling Alzheimer disease for several years, he is now at rest with the Lord. While the immediate family circle is dwindling, leaving two sons, Jerry and John; and two daughters, Linda Baker and special friend, Mike Jackson, and Mary Crockett and husband, Russell Clark; the family tree is growing, with eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren to cherish his memory. Beginning at age 14, "daddy" was a World War II veteran who fought for our freedom in the Pacific Theater, for which we are grateful to him. An avid fisherman until his disease took its toll; he has now rejoined many of his fishing buddies in Heaven. Seemingly stern at times, he would never let any of his loved ones go without the necessities of life and tried to help his family enjoy life. In his younger years he took his family on numerous trips and he loved to take his children sledding in the snow. We will miss our daddy. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
