Edward Hurst Brewer Jr.

Edward H. (Buddy) Brewer Jr., of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008. He was born in Roanoke on January 26, 1929, to the late Edward "Hurst" Brewer Sr. and Mary Whitlock Brewer. A lifelong resident of Roanoke, he was a graduate of Roanoke College. A Veteran of the United States Army, he served as past President of the Roanoke Valley Board of Realtors and was formerly a member of Roanoke Country Club, The Squires Club, and The Elks Club. He is survived by a son, Edward H. Brewer III and girlfriend, Joan S. Fargis, of Chester, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann B. Thornhill and Randy Thornhill; two grandchildren, Jordan E. McDonald and C. Madison McDonald, all of Roanoke; one sister, Jean Brewer McCurdy, of Richmond, Va.; and two nieces, Gail M. Lloyd, of Rockville, Va., and Lynn M. Wiley, of The Plains, Va. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel. Burial/Interment will be private.
