Edna Ruth Lyons Underwood

Edna Ruth Lyons Underwood, 77, of Dublin, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born November 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William Asbury Lyons and Pearl Holderfield Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Underwood; five brothers, Joe Lyons Sr., Lawrence Lyons, Gene Lyons, John Lyons and Raymond Lyons; and two sisters, Ruby Groft and Helen Freeman. Surviving are one son, Larry Underwood, Dublin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Doug Ayers, Dublin, Ruth and Mike Smith, Pulaski; four grandchildren, Greg Underwood, Kevin Smith, Jason Smith and Ryan Smith; two great-grandchildren, Chase Underwood and Jocelyn Underwood; one brother, Irvin Lyons, Newbern; two sisters and brother-in-law, Irene Morris, Dublin, Margaret and Bill Freeman, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with Minister Ernie Depew officiating. Interment will follow at Newbern Cemetery.
