James Duffy Obituary

Funeral services for James Thomas Duffy, 81, of Wrightville, Ga., will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at Brown Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Logan Smith will officiate. Mr. Duffy was born in Roanoke, Va., on July 28, 1927. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Arlie Hamblin Duffy. He was a member of Brown Memorial Baptist Church and lived in Wrightsville, Ga., for the past two years. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech in 1956. He was retired as a mechanical engineer for Southern Energy Systems. Mr. Duffy served in the United States Army. Mr. Duffy passed away on Friday, November 28, 2008, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Duffy, of Wrightsville; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Price, of Wrightsville; two sons, Timothy David Duffy, of Westchester, Pa., and Thomas Lee Duffy, of Conyers; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Mr. Duffy to the American Heart Association at 1101 Northchase Drive, Marietta, Ga. 30067. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home. Stanley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wrightsville, Ga., has charge of funeral arrangements.
