Cassie Davis Obituary

Cassie Boothe Davis, 89, of Rocky Mount, our loving wife and mother, went to be with the Lord her birthday, Friday, November 28, 2008. She was born November 28, 1919 in Endicott, a daughter of the late Lewis Wardie and Susie Holley Boothe. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Alice, Bessie, Clemmie, Viola, Haggie, Ollie, Roxie, Victoria and brothers, Daniel, Grant, John and Herbert. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John S. Davis; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Allen Chaney, Sr. and wife, Lucille, Wayne Paige Henderson and wife, Beth; daughter, Sharon H. Peters; five grandchildren, Jim Allen Chaney, Jr. and wife, Margaret, Deborah Lynn Chaney, Mark Wayne Henderson and wife, Leigh, Kevin Paige Henderson and wife, Kim, and Kristy Harris; four great-grandchildren, Jamie Ann Chaney, Robert Bernard, Madeline Henderson, Eli Henderson; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lewis Josh Boothe; her pets, Omar, Jazzy Girl and Romey. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Winston Crichlow and the Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family request that memorial donations be made to Bethany United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3329 Henry Road, Ferrum, Va. 24088. Her family will be receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
