Jeannie Loan Obituary

Jeannie M. Loan, born in Roanoke on June 12, 1946, was received into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2008. She was the faithful and loving daughter of Dorothy Belle and Floyd Douglas Loan. Jeannie had been the soul caregiver to both of her parents until their deaths. She was very proud to be a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church. Surviving are a host of family at Sandy Level Baptist Church and her many friends at Edinburgh Square; as well as her special friend and caregiver, Nira Williamson. Her family would like to extend special thanks to the Third Floor Cardiac Care Unit at Lewis Gale Medical Center for their care and compassion. Flowers are appreciated but Jeannie preferred that donations be made to Sandy Level Baptist Church, 2554 Sandy Level Road, Goodview, VA 24095, where all are invited to share in the Potluck on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. to remember and honor Jeannie. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Oakey's North Chapel, with Pastor Tom Moran officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.

Serving as Chaplain at Edinburgh Square, I was blessed to know Jeannie and was assured she knew her Savior during my visits to the hospital to see her.
