Laura Williams Obituary

Laura Alice (Nookie) Williams, 71, of Cascade Drive in Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Monday, December 1, 2008, at New River Valley Medical Center in Radford. Born in Giles County on May 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Della Lee Hilton Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Williams; a son, Farin Williams; brothers, Fitchell Radford and Bill Radford; and sisters, Shirley McGuire, Dersie Ratcliff, and Myrthie McGuire. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved companion and caregiver, Joe Hines, of the home; her son, Ferlin Williams, of Pembroke; her brothers, Leonard Radford and Melvin L. "Pete" Radford, both of Pembroke; her sister, Betty R. Hutchison, of Pembroke, and two grandchildren, Weldon Williams and Candice Williams, of Goldbond. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in the Williams Cemetery on Sinking Creek near Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, December 3, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
