James Carr Obituary

James Richard Carr, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Monday, December 1, 2008, at Abby Delray, a life care facility in Delray Beach, Fla., from complications with diabetes. He was born to Luther Bane and Ella Mildred Carr on February 23, 1930. James served four years in the Air Force, after which he spent 31 years with Western Electric, Government Systems. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol McAdams Carr; as well as three children, Nancy Campbell (Bob), Richard, and Tim (Kris); four grandchildren, Sarah and Caroline Campbell, Michale and Ryan Carr; siblings, Charlie (Sue), Bill (Nettie), Dave (Janice), and Mildred Sataterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, December 5, 2008, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
