Marvin Pruett Obituary

Marvin A. Pruett, 60, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2008. He was a very loving father and an extremely talented carpenter. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Lillian Pruett. His surviving family includes his son, Brad Pruett and wife, Amy; daughters, Lori Lucas and husband, Brian, and Kristi Aguilar and husband, Miguel; brother, Thomas Pruett and wife, Linda; sisters, Martha Mays and husband, Ralph, and Sharon Blankenship and husband, Gerald; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, with Don Eckenroth officiating. A period of visitation will then follow until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Gentle Shepherd Hospice at 4040 Franklin Road, SW in Roanoke, Virginia 24014. Online condolences to the family may be made at johnmoakey.com. The Pruett family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, 389-5441.
