Maggie Elizabeth Hall Chitwood

1915 - 2008

Maggie Elizabeth Hall Chitwood, 93, of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2008. Born March 8, 1915, daughter of the late Allie Berger and Betty Ann Chitwood Hall. Also preceding Elizabeth in death were her husband, Robert Lee Chitwood; daughter, Betty Elizabeth Chitwood Brown; grandsons, C.W. Bousman and Douglas Spencer; great-grandson, Brad Myers; brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Curtis and Stafford Hall; sister, Ruthie Hall; and sons-in-law, Bill Brown, Troy Spencer and Wayne Crews. A member of the Hodgesville Pentecostal Holiness Church where she taught Sunday School and held many positions in the church. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Danny and Sue Chitwood, Billy and Yvonne Chitwood, Sammy and Pauline Chitwood, Beulah Spencer, Noami and Billy Bousman and Sandra Crews; one adopted grandchild, Johnathan Moore; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Deborah Myers (Steve), David Spencer, Roger Spencer, Stephanie Wilkerson (Tim), Ashley Moore (Jenny), Travis Moore (Melissa), Greg Chitwood (Kim), Carter Chitwood (Tammy), Ronald Campbell (Chasity), Beth Davis (Greg), Jennifer McGhee (Reggie), Sherry Myers (Taylor), Ryan Wilkerson, Brittany Massey, Kelly Moore, Tyler Chitwood, Hannah Chitwood, Jared Layman, Kaylee Chitwood, Dakota Campbell, MaHaley McGhee, Rochelle Spencer, Rachel Spencer, Megan Fisher, Remington Davis and Christian Davis; brothers, Calvin Hall and Linford and Ruby Hall; sisters, Vernell Perdue and Barbara Jean and Broaddus Shively; sisters-in-law, Mildred Hall and Frances Hall; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Christina Newbill. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Hodgesville Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Hollis Harris and Pastor Liz Lazenby officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2008, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and at other times at the home of Billy and Yvonne Chitwood, 112 Sunset Drive, Rocky Mount, Va.
