Mary Peters Obituary

Mary Dillon Peters, 78, of 3546 Sunset Road, Collinsville, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County. She was born March 18, 1930 in Franklin County to the late Clifton and Emmalyne "Dotsy" Brown Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth W. Peters, her second husband, Grady H. Peters, and her stepson, Winfrey Lee Peters. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School, Class of 1948, retired from DuPont with over 30 years service, and a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Lomax Duggan, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Ginnie Peters Caudell, of Hanover, Va.; two stepsons, Grady H. Peters, Jr., of Goodview and Algie D. Peters, of Roanoke; two brothers, Andrew Dillon, of Midilothian, Va. and Bobby Guy Dillon, of Rocky Mount, Va.; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Everett and Deborah Peters, her nephew and niece, were special caregivers to Mrs. Peters for many years. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Stone Memorial Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Stone Memorial Christian Church, and at other times at the home on 3546 Sunset Road, Collinsville. Memorial donations may be made to Stone Memorial Christian Church, 3030 Virginia Ave., Collinsville, VA 24078.
