Gladys Sanderson Obituary

Gladys Virginia Ellison Sanderson, 81, of Peterstown, W.Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 8, 2008. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born on June 12, 1927, to the late Russell Lee and Ora Lee McCullough Ellison, of Ballard, W.Va. Though she had many different jobs and interests through the years, the one that was always the most important and dearest to her heart was being a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother as well as a friend to everyone that she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Homer E. Sanderson; one grandson, Brent Pack; sister, Alma Mann; and brothers, J.C. Ellison and Joe Ellison. Survivors left to sadly miss and cherish her memory are her two sons, Tim Sanderson and wife, Debbie, of Ballard, W.Va., and Dennis Sanderson and wife, Donna, of Peterstown, W.Va.; three daughters, Bonnie Burnette and Dan Damrell, of Roanoke, Va., Sandra Hodges and husband, Bill, of Red Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and Tammy White and Tim Halsey, of Salem, Va.; eight grandchildren, Jamie Pack and wife, Tabatha, Mandy Sanderson, Jacob Burnette and wife, Arlene, Shawna Spangler and husband, Andy, Krysten Walker, Lindsey Sanderson, Matthew Sanderson, and Taylor White; one great-grandson, Braedon Spangler; one greatgranddaughter, Kyrie Spangler; one sister, Ollie Brown, of Florence, Miss.; and brother, Darrell Ellison and wife, Sandra, of Pensacola, Fla. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Steve Howdock and Tim Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Cemetery, Ballard, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services. Tim and to the rest of the family I am so sorry to hear the loss of your mother I hope you all have peace and comfort and trust in God to give you strength. I know it is hard to do without your Mother, she is a real good friend the best in the world she is everything to you.
