Genevieve Snaman Obituary

Genevieve Elizabeth Snaman, 86, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008. She was born March 18, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Henry and Nelle Heckert. She was a member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association. Before retiring she worked in the Title Business Service for over 50 years. Genevieve is survived by her husband, William E. Snaman; two sons, William E. Snaman Jr. and JC Snaman and wife, Jasma; six godchildren, Ellen, Ann, Jim, Tommy, Caroline and Alison Dicky; one brother, William Heckert; four grandchildren, Austin, Emily, Michael and Will Snaman; and one greatgranddaughter, Emma Grace Bernardin. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2008, at Evergreen Burial Park with the Reverend Tupper Garden officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. To send condolences online, please register at www.johnmoakey.com.

Here at the Circuit Court Clerk's Office for Roanoke County we called her Ginny. She was a very kind, gentle and loving person. I loved to hear her laugh most of all. She will be missed by many.
