Claude Ferguson Obituary

Claude Russell Ferguson, 59, of Huddleston, Va., passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, December 18, 1948, in Bedford County, a son of the late Victor Alvin Ferguson and Virginia Miller Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Victor A. Ferguson Jr. and Charles Ferguson Sr.; and a sister, Judith Anne Morgan. He was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation. Surviving is his wife, Linda Sue Walker Carr Ferguson; son, Lynn Ferguson and wife, Andrea, of Altavista; two stepsons, Richard (Ricky) Carr Jr. and wife, Denise, of Salem, and Michael (Mike) Carr and wife, Criss, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Helen Walker and husband, Louis, of Bedford; two brothers, Jimmy Ferguson and wife, Susie, of Roanoke, and Tucker Ferguson and wife, Nancy, of Bedford; brother-inlaw, Clay Morgan, of Huddleston; three stepgrandchildren, Victoria, Elizabeth and Stephanie Carr; and many nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew, c/o Harold Glass, 207 Sherwood Drive, Huddleston, Va. 24104. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008, at the graveside at Patmos United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, December 14, 2008, after noon and the family will receive friends from 3 until 6 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston, Va.
