Lena Albert Obituary

Lena Josephine Albert, 83, of Narrows, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Bland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bastian. She was born July 24, 1925, in Bland County, Va., the daughter of the late Oakie J. and Grace Clara Orey Carner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Albert Sr.; and a son, Donald Albert Jr. She was a member of East Chapel Community Church and was loved by her family. She is survived by a son, James E. (Gene) Albert, Narrows; two daughters-in-law, Elizabeth G. Albert, Narrows and Nancy Wiley Albert, Pearisburg; a sister, Masel C. Collins, Pearisburg; nine grandchildren, Wendy, James A., Matthew and Keith Albert, Nikkie Collins, Deborah Barton, Jackie Adkins, Donna Reynolds, Whitney Songer; 15 greatgrandchildren and eight greatgreatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, December 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating. Burial in the Staffordsville Cemetery, Staffordsville. The visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Debbie, Jackie, Donna, Keith, Whitney, and families.
I know your maw-maw loved you very much, you done as much as you could for her.God tells us to lean on him in such times of hurt and pain.we all know she is in a much better place, no more nursing home,nor hospitals, for she is forever healed telling your father about each and everyone of you! i wish i could have been there for you
i would love to see you jackie, i often ask about your family will i come home. i found this out to late to come in, but i remember the good times we had when i stayed with you at your parents/ grandparents they lived so close we played there when we were in school. please get in touch with me.

I HATED TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR GRAND-MA. SHE IS NOT SUFFERING NO MORE. SHE IS NOW IN HEAVEN WITH YOUR DAD- GRANDFATHER- (YOU WOULD TELL EVERYONE TO ALWAYS HOLD ON TO THE MEMORIES.) NOW I CAN TELL YOU TO DO THE SAME.
