Catherine Biggs Obituary

Catherine (Kathleen) Ruth Biggs, 87, of Rich Creek, Va., passed away at Princeton Community Hospital from our loving arms on Sunday, December 14, 2008, to make her journey to Heaven to be with our Dad, Vernon W. Biggs and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born March 19, 1921, at Narrows, Va., she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Armellia Waldron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Allie Johnson, Lillian Morris, and Mary Mason; three brothers, Dennis, Everett, and Junior Waldron, all of Narrows, Va.; and great-grandson, Gabriel Akers, of Christiansburg, Va. She was a homemaker and loving mother. In her younger years she enjoyed quilting; embroidering and most of all loved to plant beautiful flowers and enjoyed watching them grow. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rich Creek, Va. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Carol Campbell and husband, David, of Christiansburg, Va., and Judy Williams and husband, Rodney, of Princeton, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Melissa Akers and husband, Eric, of Christiansburg, Va., and Lisa Wood and husband, Joe, of Princeton, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Mikaela Akers, of Christiansburg, Va., and Evan and Jared Wood, of Princeton, W.Va. Mother will always be admired for her strength of independence and love for her family. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, Va., with Barry Harper officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at the funeral home no later than 1:30 p.m. Online guestbook can be signed or condolences sent to the Biggs family at www.broyles-shrewsbury.com. To the family of Mrs Biggs,
Here it is December the 29th. and I just learned of your mother's death. I extend my sympathy to you. I worked at Celco with your dad and was at your parents house several times to get my TV repaired. Your mother was always very nice to me.
