Kelvin Robertson Obituary

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, in the morning hours, God called Kelvin Warren Robertson, 50, of Roanoke, to eternal rest. Kelvin was born on January 27, 1958, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Extelle Moullins and unknown father. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Robertson. Kelvin was educated in Roanoke City Public Schools. He graduated from Patrick Henry and played baseball and basketball there. Kelvin began his work career with a moving company for 27 years and worked at Hardee's. He was a member of Staunton Avenue Church of God. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Yvonne Smith (Robertson); one aunt, Margie Robertson, of Roanoke; one uncle, Elijah Robertson, of Roanoke; three sons, Kelvin W. Robertson Jr., Kory D. Robertson and Rashad D. Smith; one daughter, Fateemah Smith. He also has six grandchildren; a host of sistersin-law and brothers-in-law; and nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Visitation on Friday, January 16, 2009, from noon until 5 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home and on Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Staunton Avenue Church of God. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the church. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home.
