There are people in our lives not well known by us but well thought of by us and those thoughts are bright shining moments that make us smile. I was blessed to see Mrs. Spickard at each of the four all alumni weekends of Jefferson High School graduates. She will always be one of the shining moments in my memory and as I think of her I will smile.

Dick was an amazing woman. Her smile lit up a room, and her stories warmed my heart. She was hard-working, caring and honest--an example for us all! She made such an impact on the lives of everyone who knew her, and has made a forever imprint on my heart! Turner Hall at Hollins University will never be the same. I love her and will miss her dearly!

Madaline will be missed by all of us. How proud we are that she was a fellow Magician and supporter of our beloved school.

Dick was like a part of our family. Dick visited my grandmother every day after work, almost without exception, until my grandmother passed away a few years ago. Dick did this for almost 50 years. She was a great lady and will be missed by our entire family.

What a lady "Dick" Spickard was in our day! She was inspirational to all who were fortunate to know her. This wonderful woman wore high heels up to about 3 years ago!! She was very much a queen of fashion (and catalogs second only to her good friend Theresia Rheimers)! The English dept at Hollins University will NEVER be the same. She kept all in her dept in tow and good standing. She kept me advised about anything and everything I needed to be aware of at any given time. I will truely miss her! My hat is off to the most sophisticated, loving and loyal woman on campus! I'm sure she would agree that she has had a great ride! Love and gratitude to you, Madeline 'Dick' Spickard! Give the family our best! <3 Miss Margaret xoxoxoo
