Curtis Smith Obituary

Curtis Jackson Smith, 67, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Curtis was born on September 17, 1941, to the late Gayleon Hamiliton and Marie Bowers Smith. Curtis was an auto mechanic and worked for many businesses throughout Montgomery County. He was employed with Dan's Garage at the time of his passing. Mr. Smith was proceeded in death by his brothers, Nelson Smith and G.H. Smith; and a sister, Loretta Ball. He is survived by his son, Curtis Jackson Smith Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Karen Gay Smith and her daughter, Megan; plus his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Story and her husband, Carl, and Anita Carol Smith; and two brothers, Norman and his wife, Pat, and Wayne and his wife, Jeanie. A memorial service for Curtis will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009, in the chapel at McCoy Funeral Home, Inc. Arrangements by McCoy's Funeral Home, Inc., Blacksburg, Va., 540-552-3211.

Curtis was my brother-in-law and he was a good person and would help me in anyway he could. He married my sister Gloria, his second marriage and he was always included in our family reunions. We will miss him very much and he will always be in our hearts. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

Curtis was a big part of our lives for 26 years. He always came to our family reunion every year. Curtis lived on Park Street for 18 years and would help anyone in need. He was a Special Person and We Will Really Miss Him. Curtis was a father figure and a Paw-Paw and Uncle Curtis to all his neices.He was always Loved and Looked after until God Called Hime Home. Curtis will be in our hearts forever and always.
