Jackie Stewart Obituary

Jackie Maurice Stewart, 72, of Dry Branch Road, Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2009, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Wyoming County, W.Va., on July 29, 1936, he was a son of the late William C. and Mattie L. Stewart. He had been employed in the logging business and for The County of Giles as a heavy equipment and truck operator. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Stewart. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eunice Jude Stewart; his son, Michael Stewart, of Mt. Olivet, W.Va.; his daughter, Kathy Jarosh, of Chicago, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Maxine Jude, of Pembroke; his five brothers, Billy Stewart, of Roanoke, Kenny Stewart, of Pineville, W.Va., Ronnie Stewart, of Princeton, W.Va., Tom Stewart, of Roanoke, Va., and Tim Stewart, of Oak Hill, W.Va.; his sisters, Donna Bobblett, of Oak Hill, W.Va., and Diana Stewart, of Atlanta, Ga.; and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. before the services. Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Williams Cemetery at Hoges Chapel.
