Donald Jarrett Obituary

Donald Aaron Jarrett Sr., 72, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009. He was born in Fieldale, Va., son of the late Russell W. and Evelyn E. Sawyers Jarrett. Mr. Jarrett was United States Army Veteran having served in the 11th Airborne Division, attended Roanoke College and was the owner of J and J Autoville. He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Lee Woods Jarrett; children, Donald Jarrett Jr. and wife, Cynthia, Robin Fridley and husband, Martin, and Daniel Jarrett and wife, Jennifer; brother, William Leon Jarrett and wife, Virgi; sister, Ruby Louise Owens and husband, Homer; and grandchildren, Lindsey Jarrett, Chad Jarrett, Kelsey Jarrett, Sara Jarrett and Emma Jarrett. Memorial services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Charlie Gwaltney officiating. Interment will be at St. Andrews Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Jarrett's name to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Lung Association of Virginia.
