Mabel Allen Obituary

Mabel M. Allen, 92, of Rocky Mount, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Allen; sisters, Geneva M. Carter and Katherine Matthews; and brothers, John W. Matthews and T.D. Matthews. Mrs. Allen is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty I. Matthews; niece, S. Delaine Matthews; nephews, John W. Matthews and wife, Brenda, T. David Matthews Jr. and wife, Janette, and Creg F. Matthews and wife, Kristin; great-niece, Kristi L. Matthews; and great-nephews, Bryan D. Matthews, Justin G. Matthews, Jack F. Matthews and Carter W. Matthews. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2009, from Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, Va., with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17 Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633. Also, the family would like to thank that staff at Richfield for their loving care. Her family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va.
