I was shocked and saddened to learn of C.P.'s death. We had talked since Christmas, and he'd mailed me an appointment book from the Toy Museum. We'd shared the Town and Gown stage in musical productions, and I'll remember those good times when I think of C.P.

I was deeply saddened to hear of C.P.'s death. Colquitt Prater Jr. was a good friend that I met while attending the Univ. Of Georgia and a great fraternity brother. I and my roommates,Tim Conner and Steve Boots, at UGA, shared a lot of good times with C.P. Bracket. I kept up with C.P. until he left Sevierville, Tn. After that I lost track of him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to C.P.'s family.

Dear Friends & Family of C.P.,
I was shocked to learn of his passing. Although I had lost contact with him, we and others shared happy memories in The Emmanuel Episcopal Church Dream/Journey Group. The ride back to Lincolnton with him and Paul Edmondson after a car breakdown at the Kanuga Campground provided an outstanding memory of synchronistic events and a beautiful trip through some of his beloved places in the mountains. You are in our prayers.

Although our life and time together was much too short, it was a spectacular ride that I wouldn't have missed for anything. I will bask in the love that we shared for the rest of my life. Always.

Sorry to learn of C.P.'s death. I'd lost track of him and wondered where he had moved off to. I have fond memories of performing with him at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation. He was Dr. Chumley in Harvey. He and I both saw the rabbit in that play. I later worked with him in a play he wrote and directed, and had several more conversations with him after that and found him to be a delightful and caring man. Peace and grace to the family.

We were shocked and sorry to learn of C.P.'s death. There are many bittersweet memories of our time working with him when I was the Toy Museum Manager from 2002 to 2004, and my mother, Dorothy Watkins, was the Museum Assistant from 2003 to 2004. His toy collection was phenomenal, and his supercharged car was something else!

My Husband and I feel very blessed to have had the chance even so breif to meet and befriend C.P. It saddens us that he did not have the only one thing he wanted, to see his beautiful grandchildren grow. I always will remember how he smiled with tears in his eyes when he talked of them. He will be sadly missed. He loved his Mother dearly and is now reunited with her. May thier legacy live on and prosper through the museum and in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dear Family and friends: What a long and wonderful legacy Colquitt leaves behind. His great personality and countless accomplishments will be missed by all. The Class of '62 reunions will not be the same without him. We were fortunate to have shared so much with him and for all the things in did for and in Athens and Georgia. May God give you comfort and guidance during this period of loss and grief.

CP was a friend to all in the tourism industry in Virginia and especially the Shenandoah Valley. I was always greeted with a big smile and a hearty hello at the meetings we shared. He supported with gusto any initatives with a chance to bolster our cause and I really will miss the exchanging of ideas and the good natured banter which we enjoyed. This sudden departure is very difficult. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. John Shaffer

C P was a good friend and former ballroom dance partner of mine. He was always cheerful and fun even after the stroke that left him unable to see well enough to drive. He would call when he was in town and we would visit, usually over dinner. I will miss him. He loved his daughter and was so proud of those grandchildren. I don't know what will happen to the toy museum but I hope that Susan is able to find a buyer or somehow keep it together. It is a treasure.
