Nellie Bousman Obituary

Nellie Muse Bousman, 93, of Penhook, Va., died on Thursday, February 5, 2009. She was the oldest member of Cool Springs Christian Church, where she formerly was pianist for Sunday School. Mrs. Bousman was born on July 9, 1915, a daughter of the late William and Lizzie Cooper Muse. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Walter Bousman; sister, Mary Crist; four brothers, Raymond, Stafford, Sherrard, and Cecil Muse. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Fred Finney, Dorothy and Bob Beavers, all of Vinton, and Marie and Jimmy Arrington, of Martinsville; grandchildren, Deborah Hungerford, Allison Bragg, Lisa Houston, Sandy O'Neil, Ronnie Arrington, and Angela Brown; six great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren ; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Muse; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ron Hennis and the Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be made to Cool Springs Christian Church, c/o Preston Davidson, Treasurer, 3150 Hatchett Road, Penhook, Va. 24137. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2009, with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va.

We attended church with Nell and were neighbors. She was a wonderful lady and was always joyful
