Margaret Lawhorn Obituary

Margaret D. Lawhorn, 84, of Chamblissburg, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009. She was born April 13, 1924 the daughter of the late Larry Dearing and Minnie Waldron Dearing. Her sister, Audrey Dearing, also preceded her in death. She was retired from the General Electric Corporation and was a member of Chamblissburg Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Moorman L. Lawhorn of Roanoke; two sons, Don Lawhorn of Roanoke, Michael E. Lawhorn and his wife, Carter of Knoxville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Heather Jimez and husband, Sean of Virginia Beach, Va., granddaughter, Dana Fitzgerald of Vinton; grandson, Michael L. Lawhorn of Roanoke; great-grandson, Jason Fitzgerald; great-granddaughters, Brandi Lawhorn, Christen Lawhorn; two sisters, Beatrice Johnson and Ivor Wheeler of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Dr. Ken Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
