I didn't know Mr. Milam but Mrs. Milam was the best teacher I can remember. I was lucky enough to have her when she taught at Ferrum School. I am so sorry for your loss.

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Mrs. Milam and her family. Mrs. Milam, you were my teacher, lo, so many years ago at DRHS; and all of the students loved you very much. You may remember I entered a contest about a favorite teacher through one of the TV stations in Roanoke, and both of us won a beautiful pen resulting from that letter.

As you go through the next days and weeks, I know that the wonderful memories of Mr. Milam will sustain you. I am sure that he has been welcomed into Heaven by our Lord.
