I just heard the news today. I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't seen Larry in many years but at one time we were close. Skating days are some I cherish and he is a part of those good memories. He will be truely missed. My love and prayers go out to his family but most of all his children.

My prayers and thoughts are with you Donna, Michelle, Alora, Ryan and RK and family. You know I am here for you all if you need anything. Hugs and love you.

February 20, 2009

My prayers are with you all. I thought the service yesterday was beautiful. Take heart to the words the pastor spoke of, on salvation. Remember John 3:16. If you believe on him and get saved, you WILL be with Joe again, in heaven. I'm so glad he got saved right before his death. He is in an amazing place now, with the Father. I pray that God will give you comfort and give you peace knowing that Joe is with Him, now. Michelle, Alora, Ryan - I will pray for you daily. Take care and find comfort in the memories you have.

It's been years since I've seen Larry but like many others I too knew him from Glenvar and from the skating rink. Every Friday and Saturday night skating for hours on end. Larry was always such a fun guy. Although MANY years have passed since we've hung out the memories are wonderful! Prayers for you family. God Bless

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was devestated when I heard the news today.

Larry was an old friend of mine. Back to our skating days. We would travel to other rinks all over VA.

We would hang at my family's rink Star City into the morning hours after it closed playing Fooseball. He never could beat me.

Then we would go to my apartment and play Sega Genesis. I could never beat him.

Larry, John and myself were always hanging together. This was around 90-94.

I went with Larry's family to Piegeon Forge and blew all of our money on the go-cart rides and the laser tag Q-Zar in Gatlinburg.

He rode with me to several of my wrestling shows and sat in the crowd yelling at me.

He rode with me to Charlotte, NC to get Melanie from her sisters. We made it there in a little over two hours. Larry got so scared at how fast we were driving, he crawled into the floorboard LOL.

Larry was always there when I needed a friend during tough times.

I will miss him dearly.

Michelle, Alora, RK, Ryan, Jeanie, if there is anything I can do, please let me know.

I will cherish all the found memories we had together. All the fun we had, all the trouble we got into.

Larry, I will see you when I get there. Better save a game of Fooseball for me beacuse I don't plan on letting you win ever my friend.

I miss you,

Oh, no. My heart goes out to his family. I knew Larry from the neighborhood I grew up in. I, my friend Michelle and Larry used to run around together all the time, getting into things. We also used to hang out with him at Lee High skating rink sometimes. I'm so saddened by this.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who knew and loved Larry. We all will miss Larry greatly. He was such a great guy. My days of knowing him were from the skating rink on Lee high. Those days are some of the best memories I have of my childhood and Larry was always a part of that happiness. That is who he was, always happy. His goal every week was to be the fastest skater and make everyone he knew laugh. He and another one of our friends taught me how to shuffle. Thank you Larry for all the memories! Here's a lap for you speed skater! You will be missed greatly!

Michelle,
I was shocked to hear about Larry. I am so sorry for you and his family. I know that nothing that I say can make you feel any better. Larry was one of a kind. He was special friend. It puts a smile on my face thinking back to the skating days. I hadn't seen you guys in quite a while, but I thought of you both often. The last time I spoke with Larry he was telling me how happy he was and about how beautiful your daughter was and how Ryan had grown up so fast. Hard to believe time goes by so fast. If you need anything, please email me- [email protected]

There is so much to say and not enough to say at the same time. Joe we have known you since we coached Ryan at 5yrs old with our son in football. From day one we all became friends and always remained that way to this day. We love and respect you and your family and are deeply saddened that we will not be able to see you again and laugh and joke about the past. Our hearts are broken and empty. I only hope now that you can rest peacefully. You will always be loved and never forgotten. We will smile everytime we hear your name my friend and we will see you again someday. And when we do, watch out heaven!

It is so hard to be away from you, away from your loving arms away from your warm smile your gentle heart. When we're apart like this life seems somehow out of balance and I go through each day feeling like the sun has hidden behind a cloud. I can't hardly wait until you and I are together and I can hold you close n my arms. Until then, know I love you with all my soul and I miss you with all my heart. You wrote this poem to me Joe. I will always love you and we will be together again in Heaven one day! I Love you....
