Ava Vest Obituary

Ava Ruth Agnew Vest, 72, of Pilot, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Lemuel Vest, of Pilot; six daughters, Shirley and Earl Sanson, of Pilot, Jean and Ray Smith, of Pilot, Brenda and Robert Neece, of Christiansburg, Bonnie and John Whitaker, of Radford, Donna and Howard Sowers, of Christiansburg, and Kathy and her fiance, Dave Whitlock, of Pilot; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Edwards, of Pilot, Mary Schuer, of Rocky Mount, and Ethel Harris, of Christiansburg; and one brother, William Agnew, of Christiansburg. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd with Pastor Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow in the Huffville Church Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff of Heritage Hall Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd, Va.
