Danny Moore Obituary

Danny Barry Moore, 57, of Wenonah Ave. in Pearisburg, Va., departed this life Thursday evening, February 19, 2009, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke after a long illness. Born in Pearisburg on January 2, 1952, he was a son of the late Lacy William and Vida Pyles Moore. Danny was a man of simple tastes and loved the company of his friends at the Pearisburg Moose Lodge. He leaves to cherish his memory his three sisters, Brenda Messick and her husband, James, of Salisbury, N.C., Linda Fisher (beloved caregiver), of Pearisburg (and his ex-brother-in-law, Herman Fisher), and Donna McGuire (and brother-in-law, the late Larry Edward McGuire) of Welcome, N.C.; his four nephews; three nieces including a special niece that helped care for him, Erin Thorne; and special friend, Phillip Hylton. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, February 21, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made to Kendall Funeral Home toward funeral expenses. The family would like to thank the Giles Rescue Squad for the many times that they helped Danny and transported him to the hospital.
