Oliver Anderson Obituary

Oliver W. (Buddy) Anderson, 67, of Rich Valley, Va., died February 20, 2009 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. Mr. Anderson was a former employee of Hubs & Wheels, Long-Airdox, Kegley Trucking and an owner-operator of a store and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Margaret Elizabeth Robbins Anderson, a sister, LeeNell Jackson, beloved brothers-in-law, Scott Delp and Wayne Strouth. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Maxie Strouth Anderson; two sons, Oliver Lee and wife, Barbara Anderson, of Broadford, Va., Robert Dwayne Anderson and Genny Blevins, Rich Valley, Va.; sisters and brothers, Darlene Anderson, of Colorado, Marlene Molandes, Dallas, Texas, Charles Anderson and wife, Pearline, Meadowview, Va., Charlotte Parks, Chilhowie, Va., Valerie Bowman and husband, Ronnie, Rich Valley, Va., Lynetta Ford and husband, Ron, Chilhowie, Va., Phyllis Armstrong and husband, Charlie, Chilhowie, Va., Willis Anderson and wife, Bonnie, Lake Charles, La., Libby Delp, Rich Valley, Va., Jo Rita Kanode and husband, Terry, Christiansburg, Va., Robert Anderson and wife, Sharon, Rich Valley, Va., James Anderson and wife, Dixie, Glen Allen, Va., Brenda Williams and husband, Kim, Lake Charles, La., Jeanine Eastridge and husband, Dale, Roanoke, Va., Eunice Dickey and Tom Kegley, Rich Valley, Va.; five grandchildren, Jessica and husband, Jeremy Chapman, Carmen Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Jake Anderson, Austin Blevins; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Buddy Anderson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Benny Frye officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ridgedale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Robert Thomas, Mike Delp, Petey Hawkins, Ronnie Bowman, Jr., Jeremy Chapman, Michael Coulthard, Joey Tibbs. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is serving the Anderson family.
