Dorothy Southern Obituary

Dorothy (Dot) Wooldridge Price Southern, 79, of Christiansburg, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on May 6, 1929 to the late Jesse and Nellie Wooldridge. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Gene Price, two brothers and sister-in-law, Carl Wooldridge and Larry and Alice Wooldridge. She worked at Scottie Pharmacy for over twenty years. After retirement she devoted her life to taking care of family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Nita Price Graham, of Christiansburg; granddaughter, Leah G. Musick and husband, Kirk, of Roanoke; grandsons, Darren Graham and fiancée, Charity McChain, of Christiansburg, Chris Price and Jessica Pratt, of Blacksburg; great-grandsons, Brayden and Logan Price, of Blacksburg; brother, Curtis Wooldridge, of Blacksburg; her granddogs, Harley, Petie, Rio, Buddy and Molly. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call any time after 12 noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.

Was sorry to hear of Dots passing. I worked with Dot at Scottie Pharmacy when I was 15 til I was 18. That was 32 years ago, She was a real special lady, she will be missed.
